With the arrival of the latest 1957 Imperial Crown Convertible from GLM, I've taken a look at some other '57 Imperial models in my collection.
In this post I'll take a look at three of them from different model makers.
The 1st model I'm featuring is an older original release from Conquest Models (although this one is a much later example issued by Route 66 Models)
1957 Imperial Crown Convertible in Gauguin Red
the 2nd was issued by NEO Scale Models in 2012
1957 Imperial Crown Southampton Hardtop Sedan in Desert Beige & Copper Glow
the 3rd is, of course, the most recent model issued by GLM in 2026
1957 Imperial Crown Convertible in Indian Turquoise
all three models represent the Imperial brand well, but each definitely makes a different statement getting there

They all look great and in really good exterior colors. Imperials were definitely extremely impressive vehicles during this time and seem to have been very well captured and reproduced in 1/43 scale by these makers. One can imagine the statement driving around in such an automobile back then (or now) would make.
All three are awesome John. Your photos make them look even more so. Reminds me that I also love the 57 Chrysler 300 convertible in 1/24th scale by DM in Gauguin Red.
Nice group of Imperials.

They look great in the various forms, making very different statements. The single headlight convertible is an interesting detail as well.
I've never been a big fan of the 57 Imperial but you wouldn't know it from my collection. I have them from 1/87, 1/64, 1/43, 1/24 and 1/18 scales.
