I rediscovered 1/43 scale models in 2013 as the 1:24 diecast market came to a close, and Brooklin Models got my attention in early 2014. As I said before, I was aware of Brooklin models prior to my 1st purchase, I just didn't really find them of interest. Compared to my current focus at the time, they seemed crude and undetailed, so I always just gave them a passing glance, although I had never seen one in person before.
While surfing eBay, I came across a '55 Lincoln sedan that piqued an interest, I decided to buy it along with a couple of others. One of those was a '35 Pierce-Arrow, that model was amazing, and I discovered a gem in the Brooklin line. I always found the cars of the 30s to be interesting when I made a purchase in the 1:24 range, but they were never my main focus. That remains the same in my 1:43 collecting interest, but I have to say I am far more interested in them now than I ever was before.
The details and overall look of this era of automotive design is captivating. Each one that has been added to my collection is a treat, they might not feature, as a rule, the bold colors and even bolder styles of the 50s cars, but what they offer captivates me with each one acquired.
The two models featured in this post are both from Brooklin, one I just discovered, and it was the 1st model I purchased in 2023. The other is a repaint of a Brooklin classic in a very bright color.

John,
Appreciate the interesting '30's cars you are posting and your rediscovering 1/43rd story too. I had some of the same feelings about Brooklin models but the excitement on the forum drew me in quite a few years ago. I dipped my toe, found some Bare Metal Foil and a bit of paint, and happily ended up with bunch of them.
Your two are both beautiful and colorful. Especially love the Rd/Blk of the 1931 Hudson Speedster.

Here are several more Brooklins from the 1930's that I detailed with some paint and BMF.
The '31 Hudson matched a reference photo if I remember correctly, so didn't need to "fix" it in order to make it more like a real 1:1 as I did the other two.
Showing a bit more of the display.
