A while back, I flew out to Oregon to help a friend of a friend figure out how to dispose of his extensive model collection. He had an impressive array of early Lesney Matchbox models in absolutely mint condition. He also had a few 1:43 models, including a 1948 Chrysler Town & Country from Motor City. I offered to buy it then and there but he was only interested in selling the collection as a whole. So I put him in touch with an East Coast auction house, he kicked me a little money for the guidance, and I went home. But I thought about that model for quite a while…
Well, recently another one came into view at a very fair price and I didn’t hesitate. So now another holy grail model has been checked off the list!
Congratulations on your acquisition.

Nice model. Congratulations. It is too bad that you were denied the first time but it still worked out.
A real beauty. Congratulations David.

An east coast auction house? Do you have a name or website? I might be interested in following what they have from time to time if they are liquidating collections.

That Chrysler Town and Country looks great. It is a terrific looking car and this 1/43 of it is a fine score. Very nice !
