In 2015, I attended a pre-auction viewing of the cars that were to be available at a Sotheby's Motor City Auction prior to that years' Concours D'Elegance of America at the Inn of St. John's in Plymouth, MI.
This particular Cadillac was incredible, and the finest one I'd seen to date in that year. The blue of this car was awesome, and I remember thinking, it was so outrageous for a car of that era. I spent quite some time drooling over that gem, and I knew right then a model of that car in that color was most definitely needed on my wish list. Here we are, 8 years later, and finally a Cadillac in a similar blue has been offered by Stamp. While the blue is not exactly the same shade, it is close enough to make this collector very happy.
Now unlike the 1970 Lincoln Continental Coupe, where I had a moment in picking my favorite color, this Cadillac was very easily blue all the way (I still got the other two colors, because seriously-it's a 1940 Cadillac) This blue is so satisfying and is easily, for me, absolutely the best of the three.
As a treat, here's some photos of that 1:1 1940 Cadillac I'm taking about...
and the one from Stamp Models...

This one looks beautiful, and especially in blue ! I have a couple of 1/18 Cadillacs from 1938-40, but right now just a 1/43 Rextoys V-16 Cadillac limo circa 1938-40 and a 1941 Cadillac limo by GFCC. They are all such imposing and gorgeous automobiles.
