This set of cars is a nice addition to your collection. I think some of these companies should start offering a frequent buyers program. For example, for every 10, 15, etc. (just pick a number) you get next model free.

@ed-davis Ed, you do realize that the cost of that promotion would have to come from somewhere and that would be in the cost of the models.

I will probably only buy one, but I am hard pressed to pick which shade that I like best. Love them all.

Yes, I think someone who makes that many purchases should get some kind of reward. Like Starbuck’s Stars.

@ed-davis, most purchases from companies are made through dealers, not the manufacturer. Most dealers are relatively small, dedicated operations. This makes it hard to accumulate reward points for the manufacturer, impossible if a dealer does a lot of business at a show. Think of an operation as good as Goldvarg's. I see him as one of the best. But, even Goldvarg would have a hard time tracking purchases through dealers like Mint Models without putting the burden on the dealer who is already trying desperately to maintain margins. Now, if purchases are made exclusively through the manufacturer, things get a bit easier. Even so, as Bob has mentioned, no manufacturer can simply give models away on a consistent basis. The funds to cover those free models have to be made up in the retail side of the business.

@jkuvakas One dealer in particular offers a 10% discount on advance orders, and they will hold items "on the shelf" for me until there is a nice sized group to send, saving on postage. The advantage to the seller is a reduction in inventory holding costs, which can be substantial, since he can order only what he knows he will sell, with a few or none for the warehouse.
