Here's my 1st set of "New Photos" for 2024, and with that, let me go with a couple of Concept Cars from Chevrolet in the mid-50s.
The first model is a 1955 Chevrolet Biscayne XP-37 Sedan from Autocult. Now when this model was issued, I considered it, but that "frogeye" look up front was a bit of a turnoff, so I passed. With so many others to consider, it seemed best at the time.
Now here we are at the end of 2023 and another Chevrolet Concept Car from Autocult has become available, it is a 1956 Chevrolet Corvette-Impala XP-101 Hardtop Coupe. This model was a different story, I found it to be most intriguing. Now a dilemma has set it, that '55 Biscayne would look great paired with this one, especially with both being in green.
Of course, sometimes finding a model that was issued nearly 4 years ago can be a daunting task, but I was up to the challenge. Fortunately for me, it wasn't really difficult because one was easily found, although the purchase was a bit higher than issue price. I took the plunge and paid it, the model arrived quickly and in hand, it is still kind of ugly, but growing on me. The two together, however, look fantastic (my opinion, of course). I am very pleased to have them both.

These two models are intriguing. The Corvette-Impala is quite attractive and to my eye has a European flair to it. The C pillar is 1958 GM all the way. The Biscayne looks rather coarse with lines that don't flow well....and those headlights and that grille....different for sure. I do agree though that displayed together and with their history as concept cars they will be a great addition to your collection John.
They compliment each other very nicely. What a great addition to your collection John. Thanks for sharing your pics with us.
The Biscayne XP37 looks like it's Corvair sized. If they cleaned it up a bit it would have been a stunner for 1960. It's too bad GM never released this Impala for 1958. That sides sweep turned up on the 1961 Pontiac.
Thanks John for the great pictures and writeup. I have considered the Biscayne for years and haven't pulled the trigger mostly because there were so many other offerings that attracted my money at the time. Your post has now awakened my interest again.
Oooo, I really like that 56. Beautiful.
