This past Friday one of the three examples built sold at the Monterey Mecum Auctions for nearly $135,000.
The model was issued by Autocult. Overall, the model as with the 1:1 is very unique - somewhat ugly, but certainly a car you won't forget when you've seen it.

Something Autocult couldn't resist. HA! This model has a certain amount of charm. 😉
@jcarnutz Olin Mathieson commissioned three concept vehicles to demonstrate aluminum’s potential to the automotive industry. Brooks Stevens handled the design, while Reutter in Stuttgart constructed the bodies. The cars paired brushed, anodized aluminum with contrasting black steel panels and featured an unusual roof arrangement that allowed the sections above the driver and rear passengers to open separately.
One of the more unusual Chryslers. I’m still not sure if I like it, but definitely an attention getter. Thanks John, also Randy for the extra detail.
