OK, a little fun with the title of this post. I have here a concept car from Chrysler-Ghia. The 1:1 was introduced in 1956 in a collaboration with Chrysler and the Italian Coachbuilder, Ghia. The pictures I've seen have shown the 1:1 to be more of beige/tan color. When it was restored, the car was painted a gold color seen on this model. When 1st issued, the car was labeled a Plymouth Plainsman, then it was a Chrysler-Plymouth Plainsman, recent accounts label it as a Chrysler. Whatever, it is attractive design and a nice model (although my example sits a bit too high)

It's a good-looking dream car and a very interesting design study from Chrysler. Somewhere I have some photos of the original concept car and it's an impressive design with the station wagon format.

Gotta wonder why some of those lines didn't show up on production cars. Toned down some it would have been awesome.

That's true, John. Chevrolet had the two-door wagon concept with the Nomad, so perhaps something like this would have been a more direct competitor in that field.

I've alwys thought this car more closely resembles a Mercury/Lincoln product than a Chrysler.

@bob-jackman. I agree with you Bob on the Mercury/Lincoln resemblance.Taillights and rear bumper resemble mid '50s Lincoln  and the white roof looks like a late '50s Lincoln roof installed backwards. On the other hand, the grill is very close to '55 Chrysler grill. You can only wonder if the side and rear rounded corner glass was taken from the '55 Chev Nomad. I'm sure designers were influenced by what the competition was releasing.
