In 1961, the Chrysler Corporation introduced the new Plymouth. Along with the Dodge, these were the most controversial designed cars from any manufacturer for that year. Of course, had we seen what Chrysler had instore for the 1962 model year, would we have looked at them differently?

With that, Highway Travelers has covered the look of the '61 Plymouth very well and I've covered them nicely in my collection as well.

Always loved this kooky-Venus-styling  on all 1961 full-size Plymouths. 😎 😎   These are really nice 1/43 examples; I didn't know so many body styles were even offered.

Very nice collection of '61 Plymouths John.  I don't recall the convertible being done in that color (I have the HT); is that one you had done?

@jack-dodds

I also have the convertible in that bronze color, along with the station wagon in coral and beige. The 1961 Plymouth has a unique design. Since I started collecting models from Buz, this is one of a small number of cases, where four or more styles of a specific year were done for a car brand.

Really nice Plymouths and beautifully photographed here. My Dad had a 1960 Valiant (and Plymouth was a client of his at this time) and one of my favorite 1./25 promos was a 1961 Plymouth.
