@david-green Joal (Spain) made some good copies of a few Tekno cars like the jaguar E-Type (open and closed versions). The detailed engraving is not quite the same so they did not use the same molds. Wheels and interiors are not as nice as well. (My favorite topic is TEKNO and all its 'relatives'!) Perhaps they used a pantograph to make the copies back then in the 1960-70s? No CAD/CAM of course was available.
A 3rd version was found with no word on the baseplate and a different baseplate design as well, a 'generic' version. Here is an in-depth study from 7 years ago: https://www.maronline.org.uk/tekno-wossat/

Thanks Karl, interesting stuff. The MAR article and what you have here certainly shows the differences between the two or more castings. The original Tekno certainly looks superior. I also have a few Kirk models from Denmark but these do look just like the Tekno and I presume were built under some special arrangement.
Here is a Kirk base, not mine but from the internet.
Very nice replicas and they sure picked some great subject matter here !
@david-green It's an interesting story - Tekno sub-contracted out a lot of their models to Kirk (Denmark), but the agreement ending in 1969. So for 1 or 2 years, Kirk appeared on the baseplates of many Tekno cars! In 1971, they were combined into one company (and Kirk disappeared from the baseplates) but were bankrupt by '72!
Kirk instructions:
@mg-harv Good point - I have never seen a Joal with top up! Tekno seem to be about 50/50!
