Over the years I've always been attracted to something a little different and unique for my collection. This model fits into that category for me.
A few years ago, I came across a 1931 Hudson sedan that was crafted by John Roberts. To create this model John used a Brooklin BRK 12 Hudson Speedster and a Rob Eddie RE 14 Volvo TR 704 Sedan, the combination was amazing and is a treasured addition to my collection.
Now with this model in my collection, it got me looking to discover more about the Volvo sedan. Finding one of my own proved too be far more difficult as they next to never come up anywhere for sale. Last year, along comes the Brooklin eBay site BM Outlet. On that site they have been featuring models found during the factory moves. Many of which are brand new examples, and some have been very hard to find models. Not only did I find this one I found another in the green that matches the Hudson, and as good fortunes often flow in three, I secured another one in dark green from another eBay site. I went from none to three in about a day span last September, I'm thrilled.
Here's a couple photos of John's brilliant Hudson model.

Those look exceptional ! The colors are excellent on both of those and JR's Hudson is really nice .... as we have come to expect and know from him.
I had heard the Hudson automobile name came from the Detroit department store that was originally owned by the same family. In any case, great cars.
Wow, John that work of art from John Roberts is magnificent. Yes Mike, J L Hudson of Hudson department stores financed the company and insisted that the car company be named after him.
A brilliant John Roberts model conversion and a great post about the Volvo models. Thanks John.
