Unlike the recent release of the '54 Lincoln Rallye Car, I had to have this Studebaker model and got it as soon as it was released. As a collector, the Orphan auto brands have always held a fascination for me. The same applies to the 1:1s as well.
This is not my usual type of model as a rule, they don't really interest me. I prefer a model in stock form. With that said, this is a very sweet model that I am pleased to have.

Well John, you forced me to do a bit of research....
Knowing that the La Carrera Panamerican Mexican Road Races were discontinued after 1954, I was unfamiliar with your '56 Studebaker. I've since learned that the Netherland's world-wide "Tulip" road-rallies of the 1950's were quite the events, covering almost 1,500 miles. 1956 was particularly special, both amateurs & professionals competed.
In 1954, Studebaker did compete along with Lincoln in Mexico - something I've attempted to recreate (and hopefully finish one day ) in 1/64.

The Studebaker is pretty cool, but the Lincoln Panamericana was the model I lusted for and missed out on.

That is a good-looking Studebaker Power Hawk ! You don't always seem to see a lot of Studebaker models it sometimes appears to be the case, but they are definitely out there and really attractive.
