It's been a minute since I last posted about the Buick Riviera. As mentioned by others, the Riviera name was a featured nameplate since its introduction in 1949. The Riviera name identified the hardtop versions and other special Buick models from 1949 to 1962. It was in 1963, that the nameplate stood alone as a new personal luxury model from Buick. The Buick Riviera lasted for 8 generations and was built through 1999. It's those models that I'm focusing on.
Unfortunately, not all Riviera generations have been offered in this scale. One can hope that more could be made someday.
In this post, I'll continue with a model from the 2nd generation, 1969. I missed this one in my 1st entry.
Buick Riviera Hardtop Coupes
a 1969 GS version from NEO Scale Models
The 3rd generation of the Buick Riviera was very distinctive with their boat-tail styling and lasted from 1971-1973. They were large cars and great cruisers, although far from energy efficient. As a teenager, and with several of these in the family, I just loved this style. This is the 2nd most represented generation after the 1st.
The next model is from True Scale Miniatures and is a 1971 Hardtop Coupe in Vintage Red.
the next is from Premium X Models and is a 1972 version
and also from 1972, is one of my favorite Buick models - it was offered by Route 66 Models in the WMCE series

The depth of your collection John is analogous to a never-ending well! 😯 😮 😯
They are all beautiful models ! What a treat to see them all... Thanks ! The '66-'69 are my all-time favorites along with, of course, '63-'64.

These all look great ! What extremely attractive Buick Riveras shown here. I have two 1/18 H61 1964 Rivieras and also one of the Yat Ming 1972 1/18 "boat-tail" Rivieras.
Additionally, I am happy to have a 1/43 '72 YM version in light green and it is also a favorite diecast replica.
Perfect paint combos and, as always, Terrific Pics!
Love the pics and writeup.
What a great selection of classic Rivieras, looking lustrous. Thank you for posting, John.
I keep hoping for this generation of Rivieras, circa 1995. Goldvarg, Exval, Stamp, Edicola, Greenlight, etc. ? Maybe too new for model makers?

That was a goodlooking Riviera
"Maybe too new....."
"Too new?" That Buick's 30 years old! Those were (are ) beautiful Rivieras, just gorgeous! IMO, they're certainly worth consideration.
