I have this model even though the rear bumper reminds me of the front bumper of a 58 Packard which reminds me of a catfish. Love your very clear pictures and daily offerings.
@bob-jackman Lol. Bob; your catfish comment brought back a very old memory for me; that is exactly what I thought when I first saw this car as a little kid. I had the same thought about the Packard as well...really disliked it then and still do. I liked the Imperial though, but that bumper was a detractor for me.
Sorry, John, to interrupt your beautiful Imperial with a digression, but I wanted to illustrate that controversial "last gasp" Packard, at least in coupe form. The model year was 1958 and Studebaker-Packard made one last attempt at dressing up the top-of-the-line Studebaker in what they hoped buyers would think was Packard attire. Here's the result with the Studebaker Hawk base:
What was said at the time: "It was a poor Packard but a superb Studebaker." (and an uncommon 1:43 model, too.)
I agree with the Packard, but I never saw that with the Imperial bumper until it was pointed out. Hmmm.

@graeme-ogg - Can you do your magic on these two? I think the 1/43 world needs a Packperial - a push-me-pull-you catfish car, if you will! 😡 🤢Â
