Tom's a good friend - Some really cool stuff! I love that Z11 Impala. I owned a '68 Fiat 124 Sports Coupe so those '70's were interesting! Lots of variety!

The owner of the gas station I worked at in 1972 had a Fiat convertible. I always thought it was a very handsome sports car.
I had a 124 Spider. It was a great car...until it wasn't! I also had two X1/9s. I'm a glutton for punishment. Even with their rust and maintenance issues, they were all a blast to drive.

Thanks ! Some great real and model cars, trucks and busses. Back in the 1970's I remember Fiat was an automotive client of my Dad and the exhibit company. Interesting cars, for sure including (I think) the wedge-shaped X1/9.
The X 1/9 was a riot to drive. It was a small, mid-engined sports car with not a lot of power but enough to be thoroughly entertaining and an engine that would rev all day long with a snick-snick-snick transmission. It was a car you could drive at eight or nine-tenths on the back roads and pretend you were Walter Rohrl.

It sure looked pretty cool ! It certainly seemed to be a fun car to buzz around in.
A friend had a '79 or '80 X1/9 and in the middle of a beautiful CA August we took a road trip up to Hearst Castle. Not much space for luggage. We endured chilly foggy weather whilst clothed in shorts and t-shirts. Still a laughable unforgettable trip.
Forgot to mention that we did take highway 1 all the way up the coast and for a great part of the drive we had the top off because the weather was perfect.
X1/9s were raced too. The Dallara version by Tomica Dandy represents a DNF from the Mugello 6-hour race.
Also, related to this Gearbox issue, here are my Delahaye 175 S (by Chromes), Meyers Manx (Neo) and Seat (Fiat) 124 coupe (Pilen).
