I don't remember ever seeing this model before....beautiful.
I pursued mine almost as long as John searched for his. Fortunately, I have Greg Gunn to thank for filling the gap in my collection.
I kick myself every time I see a post concerning this model. I didn’t jump on this when it was issue even though I really wanted one, even more so since this is one of those cars I’ve seen in person. Anyway, I was foolish and waited too long and I haven’t quite got desperate enough to pay that price for one… YET!

@jcarnutz That's a rookie mistake John.... 😒 😞 😖 Even the greats strike out now & then. 😔
@jcarnutz Don’t beat yourself up too much. I did the same thing. Patience and determination finally won out and I got one at good price I could live with.
I found mine on eBay. After reading the description carefully, I made a ridiculously low offer. What did I have to lose? Someone saying, "No?" I was knocked out when my offer was accepted!

CONGRATS!
It is an absolutely stunning Duesenburg in this red color. Definitely a real real star of any collection.
@gdh Hey, welcome aboard! Could we see some of your collection? Are you German or Romanian? Must be a lot easier to get stuff there than here in the USA.
Thank you for the warm greeting and though I live in Western Europe, I am a U.S. transplant. My 'collection' began a year ago when I received a 1:43 Bentley and a Rolls from a friend, and has expanded to include several more of those two marques as well as Delage, Lagonda, Horch, and Hispano-Suiza, with a focus toward collecting shooting brakes and estates from the first half of the 20th Century. My partner and I have two classic MBzs and when I lived in the States I had a 1:1 1937 Packard, among other fun rides. It is much less expensive to collect 1:43 models, though.
As for finding models more easily, before Brexit we could buy from the UK and I did so frequently. But, buying a model for 125€, which had a very reasonable shipping cost before Brexit, now comes with an additional cost of 50-60€ in shipping and customs costs (eBay), making the UK an option only when the desired model can be found on the island and nowhere in the EU. It was the EU's way of punishing the UK for pulling out, but it only hurts the people on both sides and kills a substantial amount of commerce. I just tried to sort out a purchase of a GLM Graber Duesenberg from a vendor in the UK and the shipping/customs costs actually came out at 50% of the price of the model, in this instance. I don't mind stepping up for a good model, but I flinch at paying the taxman/customs more than their due.
I'll include several recent purchases:
Theres some beautiful models there. If thats the Spark Delage its one I have too
