Great American Dream Machine ...
Dick, do you have a complete tracking list of the GADM?
I'm interested in collecting those. How's the quality and availability of the (older) models.
Quality excellent, availability is tough.
The listing I have is:
01 1951 Buick LeSabre
02 1953 Corvette Nomad
03 1938 Buick Y-Job
04 1955 Lincoln Futura
05 1954 Cadillac La Espada
06 1965 Corvette Mako Shark
07 1954 Cadillac El Camino
08 1951 Chrysler K310
09 1956 Packard Predictor
10 ?
11 1956 Chrysler Norseman
12 1956 Buick Centurion
13 ?
14 1952 Chrysler C200
15 1958 Pontiac Firebird III
16 1955 Pontiac Firebird I
17 1957 Batmobile
18 1954 Dodge Fire Arrow IV
19 1954 Buick Wildcat II
Further information, try the current owner Paul Burt at: GADM@aol.com or Paul@westlakefg,com. or perhaps Phil Alderman could shed some light on the subject. GADM did have a Website but I can no longer find it.
GADM
Dirk, there are some GADM models on Ebay and Toys for Collectors has quite a few.
GADM
Dirk;
The quality & detail are excellent. Check DominionModels.com and inquire with Bob. FYI - on eBay there are several at good prices offered by pjbwfg, who is Paul Burt, owner of GADM. The dated website is gadm.com
GADM...
Thank you everybody for the info!
Could it be #10 is the Oldsmobile F88 ???
GADM
Actually, it looks as if #10 is the Chrysler K-310. My list is, though, quite contradictory to the one that Dick put up. What I do know is that there is a Chrysler Falcon as #20 - this model was formerly produced by MiniMarque.
I own several of them, and have been very pleased with the quality and design of each. Next on the hit list, at some point in the future, is #19, the Olds F-88. Really nice maroon paint job!
For further reference, see the product listings at either dominionmodels.com or tfcusa.com - they will give you a great idea of what is out there.
List was taken from Jerry Rettig's usually reliable book.
Perhaps Paul Burt has renumbered the line? I only have the Norseman, the K310, & the C200 so I'm not too knowledgeable on these models.
GADM again ...
Think I've found an almost complete list. Only missing #5 (Buick Wildcat II ???) and #13 (superstition ???).
Following models are in different colours:
#4 Lincoln Futura in Red & in Green
#15 Pontiac Firebird III in Gold & in Silver
#20 Chrysler Falcon in Silver & in Black
Any other models come in 2 different colours?
Just ordered my first one, the Futura in green , can't wait to see it in the flesh. Hope to get the Batmobile next.
Checked Rettig's Book & Batmobile
Just checked my copy of Jerry Rettig's book (2nd Edition), and I certainly see, Dick, where your list came from.
Its just that doesn't jive with the numbered units as posted on some of the dealers websites.
Dick - I am shocked - why don't you also own the Chrysler Falcon and the Dodge Firearrow, given your affinity for Mopar?
Dirk - also - you are aware that the Batmobile is a repainted version of the green Lincoln Futura? The Batmobile is harder to find, but some pop up on ebay from time to time. Ebay seller & store t.m.o.e had some recently for $249, and they are $295 at tfcusa.com
Also re: the Futura, the very first run about 10-12 years ago was in green, and the red was a very limited edition that was made to match the vehicle that was featured in a 1950's Doris Day movie. I do not believe that in the latest runs of the Futura the red is as limited in terms of production numbers as before.
Tom, I just don't spend $250+ for models.
The three I have were all bought at figures well below $200. I'm just old and retired and living on S.S., pensions, and investments. I'd like to have the others so I'll just keep watching for them.
GADM ...
Just bought the Batmobile ($295), it should arrive together with the Futura. Can't find any GADM on eBay last few days.
Someone knows aprox. how many models are made of each number?
Jerry Rettig's book, where can I find it?
Contact Jerry at: jerryrettig@msn.com.
I find the book is invaluable. I think the price was about $35.
Quality
Sadly, after many years I got the Predictor I so wanted, and it just fell apart. Never had that happen with any of my other 100 or so models. Caveat emptor.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
That Stinks!!
If the Predictor, which is a very cool model but seems fragile RE: the photo-etched windshield and side windows, was a Paul Burt edition, I would either email Paul directly or go back to the seller.
That is a lot of $$ to get a poor piece - I know that all too well (in fact, a damaged and very disappointing Conquest '63 Ford Galaxie convertible arrived today, one month after purchase!!!)
