Maybe it's an oddball in the ambulance world? There are not a lot of Memphis Coach Company professional cars out there whether on a DeSoto chassis or not, I suspect!
As a model, it makes a change from all the Packards and Cadillacs, as nice as they are.

And I also think that in marketing it's like sticking ones toes in the water in order to see if its good enough for a swim. However if there lies an alligator in wait, one could lose a good toe. (which my sales manager calls a word picture). But just MY luck I'd lose a whole foot.

As their name implies they produce "cult " vehicles.
Stuff that's unusual or out of the mainstream that that other producers won't touch. And, as you can see from the response to this ambulance, some collectors are interested in.

What I would like to know is back in the day why a Desoto ambulance?
What was the motivation for the buyer who surely had to special order this custom built vehicle from a specialty builder such as Hess & Eisenhardt, Miller Meteor, Superior. Why a Desoto over a Chrysler, Dodge or even a Plymouth if they wanted Mopar? And GM products were possibilities as well. Just curious.
