I'm concerned about the weight of such models as Brooklins, Motor City, and Conquest/Madison. I realize that resin or some diecasts don't weigh as much as the brands I mentioned, and I want to be sure that they can handle the weight of heavier models.

I buy the 1:18 cabinets and put my 1:43's in at a slight angle.

It works well and takes 60 models. If you put the models straight in it is slightly crowded but fits 72.
They are easy to hang, I use Light Duty metal Anchors for hollow walls. They'll take more weight but the plastic anchors that come with the cabinet (and screws) are generally safe enough. I've had 72 white metal models in a cabinet with the plastic anchors and no problems. The cabinets are virtually dustproof.
I have 25 of the cabinets.

I have a dozen of their displays. Almost all are for 1:43. Have had them for years now and they hold up extremely well with little cleaning of the exterior. The cars inside have never needed any dusting. Very easy to mount on a wall with hardware included. They package their product extremely well for shipping and the cost is very reasonable. If you are relatively close to the Youngstown, Ohio area you can pick up instead of having to ship. Prices vary if you have gone to their web site and periodically they run sales on their eBay listings. Many of them I bought that way and saved a few bucks. If I had more room I would be buying more of their displays.

They will also custom build cabinets for you. At least they used to.

As a rule they are mounted with a four-point system of lags. I've never had a problem with any of their displays coming loose and a couple of mine are loaded with Brooklin and other white metal cars.

Thanks, all! Very helpful information. They're running a small discount on their website, and the UPS shipping seems reasonable. My four display cases are 6 feet tall and have four glass shelves in addition to the bottom wooden one. They each hold about 70 models if crowded, but that's it. I have a lot of models in storage which I'd like to display, and these plastic cases seem like a great solution. Being dustproof is a real plus, as my cases definitely aren't!

Rick, you will like them. I have every size they make for 1/43, 1/24 and 1/18 and they work beautifully. No problem handling the weight of white metal models. Nice folks to deal with as well.

the type you should use. This type will hold much more weight. Try to hit a stud with at least 2 screws. If you're half as anal as I am you should make sure that everything is true and plumb also.

That's what I use.

I've used many of these but be advised if you order the 43rd scale versions with dividers, the width of the compartments on the 54 item unit is 5.12 inches. This may not accommodate the largest American cars, limos etc. The 36 item unit has width of compartments at 5.75 inches. Measure your models first then order accordingly. Of course you can also specify no dividers.

How many 1/43 models can angle-park in a single 1/18 cubby? These seem ideal.
