I posted this on the Scale143 Facebook group. Perhaps of interest to you Cobra fans.
From my previous postings of the TSM Cobra Daytonas, it was pointed out to me that the Kyosho has a more accurate body shape. So I went looking and ran across this page in Motor Racing Replica News, volume 29 from August 1996. MRRN had a series of articles on the GT wars of the early to mid-1960s. We all know that there are minute differences among all the Daytona coupes, and that the first coupe (CSX2287) was built in Shelby's California shop. The remaining cars had bodies built in Modena Italy.

On the lower left of this page there is a front end comparison between CSX2287 and CSX2299 (typo'd as CSX2229). CSX2287 can be seen to have a lower roofline than the later coupes.

In compariing (but I admit, not measuring) the coupes by Kyosho and TrueScale, I have a hypothesis: TSM used the original coupe for its measurements, and Kyosho used one of the Modena-bodied coupes for theirs.
The TSM has a lower look to its casting and may only be accurate for CSX2287 - these would be TSM134315 (1965 Bonneville records), TSM134316 (4th Sebring 1964 #10), and TSM154352 (DNF LM65, #10). The Kyoshos represent CSX2601 and CSX2602 as far as I can tell, though a couple are not identifiable by chassis. I've included a couple pics from more or less the same angle. You can see that the Kyosho (top) has a slightly higher roofline from the TSM, most evident at the side windows.

It's a shame TSM did not alter the casting for the other seven coupes they have released. Alternatively, too bad Kyosho didn't produce more versions that the Modena coupes competed in.

Harv, I have known of these differences for years and it bothered me for a little while. And then I realized how few collectors really care a dink about racing cars so I took a vitamin and was alright later. I did not know that your interest went so far and I am kinda impressed. If Mr. Shelby could smile right now he would.

I have a few of both of those...what do you think of the upcoming Matrix Cobra coupe? (pic)
I think it looks great....but why is the body slightly different from the regular coupes?
is this a Daytona coupe? Matrix doesn't label it a Daytona.

I remember a discussion in Four Small Wheels magazine in the mid 1990’s ...
just before Marsh Models released their versions.
Anyone got these?

Here are 3 Daytona coupes from different model manufacturers..................................(pic)
The early #10 car from TSM (my favorite of the 5 TSM's I have because it is the only one with no back wing, two fuel filler doors, and is rich in history, as Phil Spector once owned it, then it went missing for over 30 years!...see pic below)
The one in the middle is a cheap diecast version, but done well for the price (about $5)...there is no name on the bottom, but it just states that it is made in China.
And the 3rd one is the Kyosho.

I have this one on order. The coupe was done by AC Cars independently of Shelby.
