This is the Vitesse model of Green Hornet's 1966 Chrysler Imperial AKA: "Black Beauty". Beyond the oversized water cooled 50 caliber Brownings that look more like automatic grenade launchers, it's pretty nicely done. Shape, stance, tires and trim are nicely scaled and the interior is quite detailed... if you're into this stuff.

It is a nice model. I don’t ever remember seeing a model of it growing up. I did have a model of the Batmobile when it first came out I think it was made by Aurora. what I remember most is that I had to take the bus to get to the five and dime store where it was being sold. I liked watching the Green Hornet. Black Beauty would rotate up on the garage floor from where it was parked. I thought that was a pretty neat trick.

I do have my old Corgis from when I was a kid - Batmobile and James Bond Aston Martin, but until I get the BB reproduction (from my pal Maz) that was about it. Also by Corgi!

Well, it wasn't the main character in the movie "Birds" by Alfred Hitchcock, but I love that car...

@karl Those Batmobiles seem still in pretty good condition. I waited 4 decades for the Mattel:

Remember there are two Black Beauties - the old TV version (Corgi) and the more recent silly movie version (Vitesse). I count 26 TV and movie cars in my collection, here's about half of them:

Corgi 336 and box

Can you recognize all the shows and movies these are from?

Thanks, Harv.  I forgot about my Blues Brothers' machine....  I got it from a Greenlight marketing guy who had it on his desk for a while!

Back when I lived near their offices in Indy!

Great models guys, I love seeing them. I have several, but all 1/24. Plus one I made as there is no scale model of it, period. And one I'm working on as there's no 1/24 scale version.😊
