Is it an error?
I have just received my first modified and painted Brooklin by John White. Very beautiful work and the model is splendid for the quality-price ratio. I am very satisfied. Just a thing, I looked in lower part of the Cadillac and it is registered that it is a Cadillac 1953?? It should be a Cadillac 1952 series 62?

As was mentioned on this board sometime ago, Brooklin originally planned a 1953.
The baseplate was cast early. They then found a 1952 to measure, instead. Don't be surprised if a 1953 is done sometime in the future, perhaps in 2010.
There are already lots of '53 Caddies in 1/43. Any chance BRK would instead do a '51?
I second that, Us collectors need a 51.
I had missed it this one, Dick.
It is not really important just that I questionned myself. With the economic situation, I think of returning more to the Brooklin Models that I had forsaken with the profit of more expensive model during the 2 or 3 last years.
Merci! Dick.

Elegance did a wm 51 & Vitesse a dc 51.
The ELE '51s are impossible to find; I've never before seen a Vitesse '51.
Vitesse Cadillac is a 53, Second year of the through the bumper exhaust
There is an ELE '51 Wagon available on the Tacot website.
My records show that Vitesse made 1950 and 1953 - did they have it wrong?
Harvey is right, A 50 and 53
The 62 Series coupe appears to be a 50, Where the Eldorado being the first year Cadillac produced them would make it a 53 for sure.
Jerry Rettig's book lists Vitesse #21 as 1951 Series 62 2D HT.
Anyone have a Vitesse Cadillac #21?
The earliest Vitesse Caddys were numbered in the 280's
My 1950 with top up is #281, the "Marilyn" version from 1953 is #288. Somewhere between 1992 and 1994 Vitesse changed its numbering, and my 1996 catalog shows #021 as a 1950 coupe (same as the previous casting).
Again, this is what Vitesse calls it's own products, and I'm no expert on the nuances among 1950 through 1953 models, though there are definite front end differences between their 1950 and 1953 models. Perhaps jerry spotted something in the 1950 that suggested Vitesse should have called it a 1951?
