Like how high, Tom? I was wondering about that, since it became known that we could order from them directly.

Are they charging VAT on goods sent out of the EU?

There is a provision to zero rate goods for VAT if exported out of the EU. I recently went though this with an Ebay vendor whose invoice he included with the models sent showed he DID charge VAT. Inquiries about this went unanswered.

Goof up on my part. Shipping was flat rate of $36.82 Sale price had the VAT included

Like I said I wanted the car so I didn't hesitate. I remember when going to Canada and bought something up there I would get reimbursed when I came back thru their Customs BUT that was a long time ago.

Here is the car I bought

photo no longer available

John, you are correct - there should be no VAT charged for shipments out of the EU.

But going into the EU is a different matter and one reason why I don’t ….

bother purchasing outside the EU. In addition to VAT there is a GB Post Office handling charge and if over ?135 a Customs Charge.

BTW when the UK finally leaves the EU VAT will be replaced by Purchase Tax.
