A few weeks ago, Nickies asked about availability of 1/43 models. John Quilter mentioned K & R Replicas.

One of my last model builds this Winter was the K & R white metal kit of the Austin Healey 3000 MK III.

This is an old kit, one of several I still have from about 1980. As with most kits of this period, the wheels are the weak link.

I'm relatively pleased with this build although I had a lot of trouble fitting the windscreen. Unlike David Holcombe, I chickened out and stuck to one colour.

Nice build David. I built this kit several years ago and also had K&R build models of my two 1956 Healeys. Their work was much better than mine as is yours.

Thank you for posting pictures of a nice built model. If I remember, there was also a plastic kit from a MK I about at the same time.

Looks like a winner to me!  Congratulations on a fine build.  Now I'm wondering if I ever built a K & R.  Hmmmmmmmmm.......

Anybody remember a late Dinky Toy light blue MK I ? It was about 1/43 scale and was a very nice model with a very smooth casting.

I had 2 of them in the 90s. I think at the time it was the closest I could get to my restored 1:1 MK III.

Dinky made a few Austin Healey's... I bet Harv has them all!  The light blue one was a Matchbox "Dinky Collection". I bet.  Like this one at hobbyDB:

@karl The original Dinky Nos. 103 and 109 were based on the Healey 100 Series BN1 from 1953. So not a 3000.

Dinky 103 and 109 Austin Healey 100s
