So I picked up this K & R Replicas Ford V8 Pilot from Greg Gunn recently. He knows my fondness for wagons and woodies in particular. But here’s where I need everyone’s help. It features the Minimarque logo on the base. So how did this come to be?

It certainly is an attractive woody station wagon. Perhaps it is a combination of a basic Minimarque model extensively modified by K&R into it's good-looking present configuration.

Must be a long out of production K&R, it no longer shows on their extensive website under FORD.

Given the age, it may have been a case of master sharing between companies. Or MM may have built it for K&R. There was a lot of collaboration back then.

Max Kernick did work with Richard Briggs (hobbydb), so John is probably right.  Did it come in a Minimarque box?

@karl The box I received it in was a plain white one with a handwritten description. So the original may have been tossed.

In hindsight, I should have included the box end as it might provide further clues. With the fact that it has a foam sleeve and cardboard wrap, I think this may have been the original inner box at least.

With what hobbydb said about Max Kernick (aka David Wright's book), seems like MM43 BUILT IT OR K & R built it for MM43!  A lost box, or very limited production...
