Bought by mistake? Sounds like a story waiting to be heard here John!

I've played a game of cyber-chicken with camper vans for some time. This usually happens in the evenings when I check my own Ebay sales and then skip through various favourites, one of which has been camper vans. Last Tuesday Stuart and I went over to Somerset to help Nigel measure a Bristol 411 for next year's Lansdowne range. When we arrived home I checked up on the Commer and put another 100 quid on it for fun before we left for an evening swapmeet at Wootton Bassett. There I bought a Dinky Toy Singapore Flying Boat which was a surprise, but the main surprise awaited me when I tuned into Ebay after we got home!
I've sort of bid on a few campers - VW (VERY expensive if you want a rust-free one) Citroen H ...wonderful, and a couple of Commers... my old Rootes Group leanings again. I luckily missed all, but was caught out by the most recent one. I hope it will be OK. I also hope the Commer doesn't come to a full stop on the way home!

Well, at least you didn't buy a fire truck like a friend of mine did

Actually, he inspected it before he bid - an American LaFrance 700-series open cab pumper that needs a few items (a bell for one of those will set you back....well, let's just say several Brooklins).
