Came upon this supposedly rare 2013 Lincoln MKZ model in resin with an Ebay asking price of $1800! See item
294220477854. Lots of MKS Lincolns showing up but not this one MKZ. Does the forum brain trust know anything more about this item of which supposedly only 12-24 were made according to the listing. Not my listing and I'm certainly not a buyer.

1/43 Luxury Collectibles Lincoln MKS AWD - sold for US$60 on the bay - seems a bit more reasonable!
Another one is listed at the same price from the same seller...
Maybe the MKZ was only in prototype form and never made it to production before the company went out of business or the listing is not really being honest about 12-24 copies only....
I bought one of these back in 2013 for $65. I don't recall the details, but vaguely remember it was only available from a retail site unrelated to model cars. It is a nice model.

@jcarnutz Except for the color, it looks like our sedan just outside the window. Well, this one might be just a tad smaller. The model's shine reminds me that I need to run my 1:1 through a car wash, too. Thanks, John.
I looked it up on the 'bay. Yep, $1800. After long consideration, I've decided to pass. Took me about 2 seconds to decide.
@jcarnutz This reminds me of Skip Johnson's Lincoln, though I think his is newer. Got a ride once or twice from him at Countryside, very well appointed car.
@mg-harv Almost, but not quite right Harv! It's definitely the right color, but I have an MKC instead of the MCZ (I'm so glad Lincoln has finally gotten rid of that whole MK_ series and gone back to "real" names in the last few years). Mine is a 2015, the first year the MKC came out.
And for the record, at just over 106,000 miles on the odometer, I am well pleased with the vehicle.

I recall buying one of the regular production MKZ models from a Ford corporate website. Pretty sure it was at a clearance price at the time. The ebay seller of the similar car for $1800 has offered prototypes in the past. Obviously he was closely associated with the manufacturer. He even listed a 1/64 version of their US Presidential Cadillac which was never seen in public.
