Hi, Jim and welcome. As you can see, members here are very helpful and nice. I wrote Independents in Miniature. I expect that there are fewer than 100 copies in print. I have a single personal copy of the book. I just checked the Blurb.com website and a new copy is $59.99. The good news is that new members of Blurb apparently get 35% off their first purchase so this lessens the "ouch" a litttle. I was unaware of this promotion but it popped up shortly after I looked at the page that has Independents in Miniature. Alternatively, someone here may have a copy they wish to sell.

As for the other In Miniature books, the Ford and GM sold a few hundred copies each and show up on those sources already mentioned. The Chrysler book may still be available on Lulu.com and I seldom see it on the aftermarket.

Finally, I concur with the folks here that the sources they mentioned are the best for auctions and price history and MAR online is a super current source of information. Also, you have many knowledgeable people here such as John Kuvakas who can provide you with specific recommendations on makers and their models. Happy hunting!

Hi Karl. Its nice of you to ask. Thanks for your kind comments about this book.

I only have my one personal copy of the book and even if I could get a few at a reduced price, the postage costs for a non-business person such as myself would wipe out any savings you would get and then some!

You will find this one different than Ford in Miniature and GM... as it is self-published and they literally charged ME by the page! It forced me to be as efficient as possible and therefore there probably are more photos of models and less verbiage which I am sure is a relief to the reader! I really loved putting this one together, so many lovely orphans. I hope you enjoy the book! Please let me know.

Randall, thanks so much for the information. The Chrysler book is available still, from Lulu.com, so ordered a copy just now. Also just ordered a copy of the Independents book from Blurb. The 35% discount offer is only applicable to any book of one's own creation, not for general book purchases.

Earlier on, I stated I had your GM book as a ebook from Amazon. I had bought it, but had not yet downloaded it, as my Kindle was in for a glitch fix at Amazon. Just got it back Wed. and went and downloaded the book yesterday. I opened it, closed it, and returned it for a refund, which they gave me because it had only been downloaded a short while before. I returned it because the type is too small to read comfortably without zooming in, which would be a pain, reading through the whole book. The pictures seemed to come through nice and clear, but I decided I'd prefer the print copy instead. Especially now, as I will have the others in print, as well. The Ford book is next, those do show up on ebay.

I'm looking forward to reading through all of them, even if buying them all has put my model purchases on hold foe a bit.

Thanks again.

Jim

Hi, Jim, thanks for the updated information about the GM in Miniature book non-print version. Sorry about the Blurb discount thing. I have not been on the site for a long while and guess I made the assumption that their program thought I was a first time visitor and they were offering me an enticement (that would apply to new visitors).

Sometimes I get e-mails from people hoping to buy a book from me and I regretably have to tell them that I only have a single personal copy of each publication. The shipping costs for mere mortals such as myself are huge, typically in the $20-$30 range, unlike major outfits like Amazon that get an extremely preferential rate. The e-book seems to be easiest to read on a large screen closer to the page size of the actual book. I can see why you would like the copy in hand rather than the electronic version. I hope you enjoy the books!

Randall, It's good to see you posting.  I have recommended your books before and now again, but I'm hanging onto mine!  (Besides, mine have some evidence of usage.)

     Regards,   David H
