The 1968 Citroën DS21 Le Majesty by Henri Chapron was one of the most unusual luxury cars of its era. The standard Citroën DS was already famous for its futuristic styling, advanced hydropneumatic suspension, and innovative engineering. Chapron, one of France’s last great custom coachbuilders, took that groundbreaking car and turned it into something even more exclusive—a formal, chauffeur-oriented luxury sedan with a taller roof, a longer rear body, more rear seat space, and richly finished interiors.

What makes the Le Majesty especially significant is its rarity and the era it represents. Only a few dozen were built, making it one of the rarest versions of the DS. It also came at the end of the great European coachbuilding tradition, when wealthy customers could still have a production automobile dramatically reshaped and finished by hand. The Le Majesty combined Citroën’s space-age technology with old-world craftsmanship, creating a car that was both remarkably modern and unmistakably bespoke.

And now, Matrix announces one added to its fleet in three colors—blue, silver grey, and black. These should be arriving later this year. From the pics, these are early and incomplete prototypes so I won't post the other colors.
