After about three weeks of on-and-off plus a spell of procrastination and with some "oops!" correction sessions, here are the results of an interesting older kit.
First, a look at the 1:1, of which several survive. You can guess which impressed me the most!
So I opened the box (wrong box, correct end tab) and started.
And so, never quite finished to what I dreamed of, I have declared, "Enough!"
Now it's time for another dive into my storage area for yet another little (1/43) project. Enjoy!

Excellent ! This looks like a very cool replica and one that's enjoyable to build.
You made a nice looking model. Do you know when this kit was produced?

Very nice kit David, well put together. I'm not sure that I would have been as adventurous with the paint scheme and would have settled for one colour, red, black or grey.
I think that you pulled off this one quite well given the difficulties with multi colours. What did you do about the split tire? That is a chronic problem with these older kits which usually ends up with me finding replacements, not always easy.
Ed, I think this one was produced about 1990, perhaps a little earlier. And David, I wound up replacing two of the six tires from my "junked stuff" stock. My replacements are just a little wider, but it doesn't seem to bother anything. Yes, I considered solid colors and it would have been an easier (and neater!) job. The red 1:1 caught my eye, but I didn't want to use white walls.

Danhausen had them made starting in the mid-1970s. Minichamps were introduced around 1990 so they must have stopped making white metal kits sometime before that or not too soon after...
