The Mercedes-Benz C111 was a series of experimental automobiles produced byMercedes Benz in the 1960s and 1970s. The company was experimenting with new engine technologies, including Wankel engines, diesels and turbochargers, and used the basic C111 platform as a testbed. Other experimental features included multi link rear suspension, gull wing doors and a luxurious interior with leather trim and air conditioning.
The first version of the C111 was completed in 1969. The car used a fiberglass body shell and with a mid-mounted three-rotor direct fuel injected Wankel engine.

Auto Pilen was a diecast line of model cars made in southeastern Spain by Pilen S.A.. Models were produced from the 1970s through the mid-1990s mostly in 1:43 scale. A majority of the castings were inherited from French Dinky but many such as this one were unique.

This is the Auto Pilen No. M321 Mercedes Benz C111-1 Wankel Rotary engined concept.

David G - you keep coming up with oldies but goodies!  My Pilen is green so yours is a bit more prototypical!  Mine also has the race numbers and flags on the back.

I think they had the decals left over from their Monza GT! 😜

Nice. I've also got this 1970 C111-II that I received as part of Atlas Editions' Mercedes-Benz collection that's pretty good.
