MIKANSUE No.17 1958 MG Magnette ZB

In the 2024 Model Car Hall of Fame vote I nominated Mike and Sue Richardson, now deceased (Mike died in 2013), as my candidates for Model Car Historians, mainly for their fine magazine, Modellers" World which started publication back in 1971, a valuable tool for most of the veteran collectors on this website. Mike and Sue's book, 'Dinky Toys and Modelling Miniatures' is legendary.

At the CTCS toy show in Toronto this October, I bought several vintage.MIKANSUE kits to build this winter. Imagine my surprise when opening one to find it already finely built.

Here it is.

I owned a 1955 MG Magnette ZA back in the day so had special interest in this white metal model.

Wow David that had to be a surprise. Based on the pictures, the build looks really great.

Excellent. I'd be surprised and disappointed at the same time! Surprised at such a nice build but disappointed that I didn't get to build it! Either way, it's a SCORE!

An unusual Magnette hot rod spotted at Cars and Coffee last month. There was never a 2-door. Instead the hot rodder welded the door lines closed.

As for 1/43 ZA/ZB Magnettes, the Oxfords are the best around these days.

A friend had a 1/1 model of this car which he called the "chick magnette".

A very nice model and a nice surprise.  If I were you, I'd be chuffed that someone's carefully made model had found an appreciative home.
