Mike Stephens
All my fellow old-stagers will know of Mike Stephens, founder of Western Models. I heard this morning that Mike recently had a heart attack. He's recovering but isn't allowed to drive yet. This hasn't stopped him from asking a pal of mine to visit an Alfa-Romeo breakers in Westbury where I used to live. He needs a wheel for his Alfa so he's obviously on the mend!
John, if you speak with Mike please give him my best.
As a heart attack survivor, he has my sympathy.
Please convey my best wishes, too, John. I sent Mike a note some years ago asking for assistance with the famous splitting whitewalls. He sent a nice note back and a supply of whitewall inserts, which I appreciated.
Mike has my wishes for a complete and speedy recovery.
and mine
And I would offer my best wishes as well
I met him twice on visits to his production shop in Taunton.

Please add my best wishes. I recently completed one of his fine models, and it was a pleasure. I wish Mike a good recovery and a future bringing us more of his fine products.

Thanks everyone - I'll convey your good wishes when I speak to him.
I'm sure they'll all be much appreciated. In my experience the model car world is a small and close unit with many good people who bring so much to the hobby.
Mike
Please add my name John. To my knowledge I've never met Mike, but I do have 11 of his models and I appreciate what he's done for the hobby; and my collection!
I (and my collection) owe Mike a lot. His models started me down quite a road...
John, please forward my best wishes too. Our hobby owes much to Mike & ….

Yes, John, by all means, please add my name to the list of folks wishing Mike well
I have enjoyed many Western Models and if not for Mike, they would not have existed. He truly was a ground breaker in this field.
