Minichamps JFK question

As everybody knows, recently MC reissued lincolns from the presidential series, is it any way to find the difference between issues? propably old one more valuable?

I can't tell a difference with the one I bought in 1999

And the number (430 086100) is the same.

There are some ridiculous prices being asked on ebay, one as high as $799! Someone else states they were (only sold in Japan". Caveat emptor.

I bought the re-issue.O.K. it gives me an opportunity to obtain the model but I believe it devalues the original and I am anti re-issues unless there is a clear differentation.(i.e. the re-issued grey Conquest Fleetwwood was the same as original)(hopefully someone will say I am wrong) I too would be interested how the new Lincoln could be identified.

Minichamps is notorious for reissues of even so-called limited editions

They get around this by giving items new numbers. Their recent "Le Mans" series contained several reissues of old models and some of the Ford centennary models were reissued as "standard" Minichamps, some without even a color change. And then some of the Bentleys which appeared in dealer boxes reappeared in standard packaging.

Dealer Editions as standard releases is not restricted to Minichamps

However in the case of the JFK Limos are they both Limited Editions? If so then you could probably prosecute Minichamps under Trades Description/Misleading Claims type legislation.

A drastic measure for no positive result I would suggest.

Never saw any evidence they were limited

In fact, I thought that initially they might have been made for sale at the Ford Museum/Greenfield Village.
