Different wheels appear to have been available.

1: Is some script missing?

2:Excuse ignorance but are Neo/American Excellence/Premium X the same company?

t appears those are two different years. Dual headlights vs. single, missing script, the gold does not come to a point on the model, and the nose should be more pronounced on the model.

PremiumX is Ixo, no relation to Neo/American Excellence.

Thanks Dick,my Premium X (Ixo) Eldorado appears to be of poor quality. The air heating decals on the dashboard have been detached simply by brushing with a fine brush.(something I use on all my models without detriment.)

Entire model is poor quality because a tiny decal came off when you brushed it? Wow, that is harsh.

Yes David, poor quality when compared to hundreds of other 1/43`s which stay mint.It also arrived with two badges on the hood instead of one. That makes it unique though!

Frankly the model has much worse and more visible problems than a possible missing script.

As stated several times the nose is all wrong.

Regarding the script here are the pics sent by Jaap to another collector when defending aspects of the model.

Always about the 1972 Hurst Ed. Pontiac

Hello all american friends.
It seems the picture of the Pontiac, showing miss Linda Vaughn, Miss Hurst Golden Shifter, posted by Ed Lockyer (#11194) as been taken in front of a prototype (read text) based on a 69/70 model.
This is, to me, the reason why the grille seems incorrect.
The NEO model has the correct '72 grille.
Other point, the wheels : Optional Honeycomb wheels were available since 1971 as an extra from Hurst. See 1972 Pontiac catalog pages scanned on our french forum at this url :
http://www.forum-auto.com/automobile-pratique/modelisme-modeles-reduits/sujet4879-10360.htm

Hope I'm right.

Regards from Bordeaux. Didier.

Yes, I think you are correct.

Correct about the nose, which looks accurate enough to me compared with lots of pictures I've seen of the real '72 car. And correct about the "honeycomb" wheels which were a popular sporty option for the Grand Prix and seem particularly suited to the dressed-up Hurst version.

But you'll never convince some people on this forum!

Always about the 1972 Hurst Ed. Pontiac (2)

Thanks Greame.
I have no goal in this discusson.
By the way many readers are probably right about the lack of nose sharpeness with this model, which maybe, is just a little too "flat" (???) ...
Have a nice day. Didier.

Appreciate you noticing the Hurst was a prototype Didier.

Now look forward to receiving my 72 Hurst!
