Have a few thousand car models to display? Here’s what a museum in Denmark did…
So not to be critical, while this is certainly impressive from a distance, a great deal of the models will only show their undersides (typically not very detailed). Still, I’m quibbling…
Wow, very impressive display !
I hope the cabinets are dust proof. Very cool.

You're not quibbling Randy. How can a person view the models higher than 5 feet unless there is a scissors-like lift to stand on??? Maybe I'm missing something.......
I agree. It's an impressive display, for sure. But I would be frustrated not being able to see the upper levels. I've seen the care Radny puts into his display at the RV & Motor Home Hall of Fame. You can see every one of the models, and you get drawn into the display. This is nice to look at, but it looks to me like there are thousands of models you can't see.

Randy - how did you ever find this video??? Such a small world!!! I was in Denmark last year and my collector-friend, Keld, took me here. They moved all the model cars from old traditional cases in the old museum to this new one. Here is a story about meeting one of the curators in the old museum five years ago: https://www.maronline.org.uk/tekno-toy-tools/
For a toy car guy, it is sad that they have 'hidden' all the models in the walls. But it is impressive to look at. It is a car museum after all, not a toy museum! 🤨
I searched for the Teknos I had seen in the old bookcases...
@karl Believe it or not, the YouTube algorithm has figured out what I like and dropped this video in my feed yesterday. Cool (but not surprising) that you were there. Anything in the Tekno cases you found tempting? Or do you have them all?

The purpose here is more likely to save a large collection from being lost, destroyed and/or kept in storage. The intention is not really to display the models. The wall is an architectural add on that provides a particular function to the building for a meeting room.

You have articulated my thoughts well Nickies. I was going to comment that it is basically a wall art feature.
Wall art feature or not, I do prefer the more traditional display cases for models, but I do understand why this elaborate set up was made.

Randy - I do have all those except for one van decal variation... So nothing tempting. Many are non-mint as well so easy to find in DK. The original cases were organized by real car manufacturer - a case of Mercedes, a case of Porsche, a case of Citroen, etc. All more modern diecast or part works... Then some Tekno and Vilmer just because they were made in DK!!! Much nicer arrangement for model car guys, like us! But things change. A fraction of the real cars are now on display but it is not in an old warehouse hours from the capital but now in a modern structure near the city (with a nice cafe)! Life is a trade-off!
