I live in Canada and recently sold a number of models to US customers. These models were all around $100US and included tracking numbers. I indicated on the declaration where the models were made-some in China and some white metal models in the UK. I noticed in the tracker that a few of the models said when delivered it was left on the porch.Tariffs are paid when the buyer receives the goods and in this case should be collected by USPS when the model is delivered. If the buyer isn't home, a notice is usually left indicating where the model can be picked up and the tariff paid.If the model was left on the porch, tariffs would not have been collected. It is up to US Customs to determine if a tariff is applicable on a particular parcel. In this case, either the models just slipped through or US Customs isn't pursuing small valued items.
