More on the Enola Gay B29 atomic bomb drop
Maybe a bit off topic but I got out my 1:200 scale aircraft collection and here is a diecast replica of the Enola Gay B29 Superfortress and a later Boeing 377 Stratocruiser commercial aircraft which was based on the B29 but with a larger double level fuselage. Still using the Pratt & Whitney R4360 28 cylinder radial engines which when first launched with the B29 had considerable problems such as overheating of the rear cylinders of the four rows of seven cylinders resulting in engine fires with some magnesium engine components.

Cool models ! The original B-29's used Wright
R-3350 radial engines and, as you mentioned, some cooling problems were encountered in development and sometimes operationally under certain conditions.
Initially, the military version XC-97 and YC-97 also used the R-3350, but the service C-97 and civilian Stratocruiser, as well as the Boeing B-50 bomber (an upgrade of the B-29) used the Pratt and Whitney R-4360 radial engine.
