Last year I posted the MC models I had from this series:
First up is the Action Corvette, 6th overall and 1st in the GTS class at the Petit Le Mans.
Bennetton-Renault B201, #7 finished 8th at the USGP at Indy. This and the three other F1s are cars I saw at the race - all had the US flag added to their flanks.
Bennetton-Renault B201, #8 finished 9th.
Both Minardis were DNFs.
This Audi R8 was third at the Petit Le Mans. I cannot tell what differences in decoration were made, since Team Champion was US-based and wore the flag in other races.
Lastly there's this Porsche GT3RS from Gunnar Racing which placed 24th in the Grand-Am finale. Note the black band across the nose.
The first five above all have the somber flag outer sleeve. The Porsche should have had one, but most I see on ebay do not. I have yet to see a sleeve on the Audis.
As I typed this the Oak Ridge High School observed a memorial to the victims of 9/11. On the ORHS premises are two pieces of steel from the WTC site, along with one of the largest pieces of unpulverized granite recovered. A couple of NY-based former grads were able to pull off getting these items for this monument.
VERY nice Harv!! The Oak Ridge High memorial is fantastic and so are the cars. Love Minichamps!
