This was a big year for me as far as new model purchases go. I added just over 400 new models this year. Most were resin, but a good number were white metal too.

As of this year end... here's some stats of my total collection.

Total in collection 2240 as of today.

Brooklin-28%, NEO-8%, GLM-7%, Stamp-5%, Goldvarg-4%

White Metal 45% - Diecast 33% - Resin 22%

1950s: 38% - 1960s: 20% - 1930s & 1940s: 13% each - 1970s: 10%, the rest from the 80s & newer-less than 1% from the 20s. The top 5 years are 1956, 1957, 1959, 1954 & 1958

The top 10 brands are: Cadillac-16%, Buick-10%, American Ford-7%, Chevrolet-6%, Packard-5%, Chrysler-4.7%, Lincoln-4.5%, Pontiac-3.9%, Mercury-3.2%, Imperial-2.8%

Top body styles, 2-door-33%, 4-door-27%, convertible-22%, wagons-10%

Colors: blues-17%, reds-13.5%, greens-11.7%, black-11.6%, whites-6.2%

95 model manufacturers are represented - 110 car maker brands are represented

In addition, I bought 2 1:24 scale models just this month, nothing in any other scale.

I have been asked about models displayed. About 80% of my 1:43 are now displayed in one fashion or another-still working on display cabinets to better showcase them.

Of my 1:24 models, only 12 are displayed and my 1:18 is only 1. My 1:64 aren't, but they never have been.

Impressive! Please excuse this question, are you married and what does your wife think about your hobby?

Yes, I am. Since I was in this hobby before we met, she knew what it was all about when we met 25 years ago. She does get a little bristly when too many boxes arrive, but she understands my hobby and occasionally expresses an interest in a model when it's on my desk. At the old house, I basically had models everywhere. Here, I am only allowed to display in my home office. I have a couple of nice display cabinets (small ones in the bedroom) and the rest are in my model room. That's why we moved to a bigger house. I hope to have the model room finished by June, but I'll see. With work, my time is far more limited than I'd like.

It's really great that you have such a high percentage on display John...it must be something to see!
