Hi John,

I have a couple of reservations about the new thumbs up system. The first is that the 'thumbs-up' and 'thumbs-down' are too close together when using an iPad or cell phone.

You can easily hit the wrong one with your large finger.

The second concern is the encouragement for negative reactions. This website is with few exceptions very positive. I feel a negative button could alter that tone fairly quickly.

Other new features are intriguing and I look forward to working with them

@david-green, a well-made point, David. Fortunately a mistake is easily corrected by going back and hitting the correct thumbs up. We'll have to see how it works out.

The only use I can see for the thumbs down is if someone posts something derogatory about someone. If someone posts a, let us say "cr@ppy" model, I think most of us would just stay silent. "If you can't say something nice,...."

I also think the thumbs down option is a bit harsh for our polite assemblage.  Critical comments about a model are Ok and can be useful, but everyone here knows where honest opinion and discourse end and snark begins.

Thumbs Up is a great idea. [Duh, do I have to sign up to use it?  As the Wizard Of Oz once said, "I don't know how it works."]
