Involved right now with building a MIKANSUE kit and trying to find some information about it, I found this well written obituary from 2013 about Mike Richardson, the "MIK" of "MIKANSUE." It's good reading about a man to whom many of us owe gratitude.

Thanks for the flashback to several years ago. I read this obituary and thought it well-written as well and must have been by a model car enthusiast! I had forgotten this though: "One of Mike’s first presents to Sue was a Tekno Jaguar E-Type..." A man after my own heart. Perhaps that why they both wrote articles on Tekno for Model Collector in the 1990s. In fact, I won 2 lots from Classic Memorabilia (Weymouth, UK) of their Tekno archives back in 2008. I just went back to my 'stacks' and had a look at them!

I had a pot luck dinner with Mike and Sue at their home in June, 1981. They were working on their Dinky book at the time and I was able to peruse some of the original Dinky design drawings, including the one for the never-issued 38E Triumph Dolomite. Really enjoyed that visit and their book.
