@david-green I'd love to capture your story, too, David. If you're interested, it just starts with an informal conversation where you just talk about your interests in the hobby. Nothing is published until you review and approve. You can email me at woodywagonfan (at) gmail.com.
Excellent article and concept! Many thanks to both Randy and Karl for taking the time and effort to arrange/share his story!

Loved Karl's story! Randy, one day you will be Jack Schwager of diecast ... "Diecast Wizards" by Randy Rusk.
Thank you for your kind offer Randy. I am very flattered. Thinking overnight about my collecting, I realize just how long and convoluted it has been with several changes of direction and some collecting not shared or mentioned by the mainstream on the Diecast Zone. I would like to think about your offer for a few weeks while I organize my thoughts. I will get back to you.
@david-green Mine is also sort of convoluted. I have agreed for Randy to do my profile and started putting together the information. We will get to see Randy’s story writing genius.

I look forward to your collecting life review, Ed. Randy is very talented. You have answered one question that I am still grappling with, “where do I start?”.
@david-green It all starts with a questionnaire I can email to you and then we can either talk through it by phone or a video chat. Then I work my magic and get a draft back to you for review. Nothing goes live until you've signed off.
Nice writeup Randy! Karl and I have known each other for well over 40 years, following our first meeting when we both lived in Nashville and shopped at the same diecast haunts. But forget interviewing me - JK did that in a "My Take" video a couple years ago. A guy who bought a bunch of old records from me two weeks ago Googled me first and found the video clip (he was making sure I was a 'legit' person).

What? Some of us with inquiring minds want to know more about You.
Have never seen that video and have always appreciated your post's Harv and would love knowing more about you modeling meanderings. Also, how about a repost of the video?
Sincerely, Steve

Randy, thanks for re-posting this video. I did watch it when originally posted, and enjoyed seeing it again.

Thanks for the comments guys! Randy has transcribed a lot of the video for me for updating and editing, so perhaps someday soon I will get it back to him for posting.
I just watched Harvey Goranson’s ‘My Take’ interview by JK for the first time. Wonderful! Thank you Randy for reposting this. It is a master class interview with a wonderful knowledgeable history of the hobby presented. It covered a really wide spectrum of our hobby, its past, present and potential future. The last part about what happens when we pass, is very pertinent to many of us. Legacy is something most of us are in a quandary about.
Looking forward to the update Harvey. You are a font of model car wisdom and I so enjoyed the video. Am hoping for more of your story. Thanks to Randy for posting the video and I echo David Green's comments.
