Off topic... stamps, not Stamp

This is not a post about Stamp 1:43 scale models, but about stamps (the kind that are on envelopes). It's not directly related to our hobby but has a tangential connection...

Michael, a collector friend in Europe who acquires all the parts works models I can't get here (lately it's been the microcars), has an extensive collection of stamps that his father has amassed. (Side note, doesn't it seem that there's always someone in our family who informs our collecting habit? It may not be in the same field of interest, but oftentimes the collecting bug seems to get passed on!)

Anyway, Michael shared that his dad's entire office is full of albums, binders, and boxes of stamps from around the world that he's collected since youth. "He already handed over a big part of his collection to me," Michael shared with me recently. "I also collect stamps, but very modestly and very specifically (only France and Germany). He has tons of stamps and doubles, from several European countries (Fra, Ger, Monaco, Andorra, Jersey/Guernsey, etc.), old and modern stamps, blocs, and FDC. Maybe some US collectors would be interested."
