Paasche Grit Blaster and Dinky Bedford Trailer?
Hi Guys
Trying to get all the paint off Dinky model castings. The old paint remover does not work as good as it used to and my Harbor Freight blaster does not work. Found a Paasche grit blaster airbrush in a box, that looks brand new and has never been used. Has anybody used a Paasche grit blaster air brush to remove paint from a diecast model? Any thoughts or comments. Still working on the Dinky Bedford trailer project.

would love one of those trailers! As for paint strpping,..
my long time method is to use a glass jar or bowl with a lid. Use cellulose thinners from a car repair/body shop and dunk the castings in. I buy 5 litre cans but smaller sizes are available. Celly thinners will shift virtually any paint - for old paint like this you may need to leave castings for a few days. Wire brush will then clean any excess paint off.

I modeled the trailer in a program called Unigraphics. This was the last CAD program I used before I retired. Had not modeled anything for a while and the trailer is relatively simple just an open box with some decoration on the outside. Still took me quite awhile being out of practice. Waiting for the second 3D print with some corrections and some changes to help it print better. In the meantime cast a few of the pieces that connect the truck to the trailer.

An interesting project - will you be selling the parts?
