I spent the last weekend in Madrid with the family and visited an old models shop, Bazar Matey. Almost no 1/43 stock of my interest, but I found this one I picked it up home as its price was very tempting...

DICIEMBRE 2022

Daimler Double Six Vanden Plas Series 2 | Vanguards

It will suit perfect with Series 1 by Matrix and Series 3 by Neo... and next to Minichamps XJ12 Series 2...

Cheers

Nice find!  I always wondered where that name came from: Vanden Peas!

It does sound a bit Dutch, but it was really from Brussels, Belgium! Carrosserie Van den Plas was founded in 1870 by Guillaume van den Plas. The first Vanden Plas company in England was established by Warwick Wright in 1913, building bodies under license from Carrosserie Van den Plas.  Now I know the rest of the story!  Thanks Keko, for prompting me to look it up! 😎
