Here is a replica I have had since I was a kid. It is a 1914 Sunbeam motorcycle and sidecar and the model dates from about 1962 in about 1/34 scale.

It looks great as a model and in real life would be quite a ride either as a driver or passenger !

I have this one in my collection as well; it's cool!  Surprisingly they are fairly available for reasonable cost on ebay.  Here is one listing pic.

Thanks ! I have an older Harley-Davidson MoY replica, too, that I got decades ago when I was (actually) a kid.  After World War 1  In the very early 1920's and before my Grandfather went to Diamond T trucks, he worked at Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

I wonder if it is standard to always have the sidecar on the left side of the cycle, as with both of these vehicles ?

@michaeldetorrice  Mike;

I can see it being that way in the UK (and of course MBox and Dinky were made there).....driver tight to the center line and all that.

I believe the Harley-Davidson sidecar motorcycle was made in the USA, although it also has the sidecar on the left, so I wonder if there are also motorcycles with the sidecar on the right, or even if this was a buyers option ?

I think all the Models of Yesteryear and Matchbox replicas were made in the UK so maybe they were modeling British sold vehicles.

Mike;  Here are some Harleys with sidecar.  Seems to me that the sidecar placement is relative to the destination country the m/c is being made for.  It aalso seems that in many cases in the UK the sidecar is added after the initial m/c purchase.

That makes good sense. It would advantageous have the driver be able to be nearer the center line to be better able to judge the distance.

Thus, it would be a great help to look for yourself than to ask the sidecar passenger to judge and get no reply ....  and also no longer have a sidecar ! Silly

@michaeldetorrice LOL.  Sounds like a theme for a Benny Hill comedy skit!
