Excellent! On my shopping list!
Is the color on the second car intended to be "Coral Mist"? Here it is on an unrestored, original '64 Buick. (This one is a LeSabre.)

Sergio thanks for letting us see these models so early. I believe these were just about when the vinyl roof covering became so popular here. The one in blue looks a bit unusual with the top color chosen there. I mean no disrespect here but the colors seem to clash with one another. If sold new in my area, the midwest, it probably would get a black vinyl roof and if blue was available maybe a dark blue. Even a solid color would be all right. I don't know if you are getting into the vinyl roof texture yet. But not all of the Wildcat 2 door hardtops got a two-tone paint job. I hope this helps. These are certainly setting a new standard in mdels.
Don, I agree with you regarding the two-tone blue car. There were contrasting color roofs, as seen on this '64 Wildcat, but most were paired with white painted roofs or black vinyl roofs.

Please, no light blue roof on the dark blue car.
I agree, David. If two-toned, only a white painted roof would seem correct.

Buick and vinyl tops
I have in front of me the prestige 1964 Buick sales brochure, consisting of 64 pages. There are 43 cars shown, and only one car has a vinyl top. It is a Wildcat 2 dr hardtop. The vinyl top is White. There is, from a quick perusal of the brochure, no mention of the vinyl top, as an option. I'm sure it was, but the popularity hadn't kicked in yet to any degree. Nine years later, I had a demonstrator 1973 Buick Wildcat 4 dr hardtop, Dark Blue, with a powder Blue vinyl top, same as the model. Nine years late.
This is just for information, not making a statement one way or the other. White vinyl on the Red car may be more common.
Yes, Raymond, many Wildcats were built in red with white vinyl roofs. But I believe that white and black were the only vinyl roof colors available on Buick in 1964.
By the way, a vinyl roof was standard equipment on the first Wildcats in 1962, and those vinyl roofs were strictly black or white.

When I left the Army I went to college. And when I left college I wanted to sell cars. And so I started selling Buicks in 1967. In our town folks bought more Buicks than Chevrolets back then. But I learned that the factory, GM, was slow to get vinyl roofs in production. And many dealers in bigger cities had shops putting various colors of roofs on new cars. With quality too. In 1964 certainly there were several quality top shops catering to the dealers. It took GM a little while to catch on. And they did.

Wow-wee!
Thank you, Thomas. Indeed it was.
The lower right section of that document also confirms that white and black were the only factory vinyl top options in that year.
But my opinion remains the same, the light blue top clashes with both the body color and interior. It would not be a car I would buy.
