This is a nicely-done 1967 Chevrolet Impala done in 4-door form by Kinsmart. It was available at a very low price and in several different colors. Here, it is in a deep blue shade .
Assuming this scales out to 1/43 and considering shut lines are actually quite nice for a small model with opening front doors.... this does look pretty decent. A slightly lower stance & better wheels would help but body proportions, trim & chrome all look good.
This model automobile was actually sold at a local CVS store and was likely one in a large plastic display tray. I also had earlier bought a 1989 Ford Crown Victoria police car with a full light bar that I modded and changed into a regular big vinyl-top Ford.
Because they all tend to have to fit into a big tray, the scale can vary. But they really don't try to mislead about this and I believe this one was labeled 1/44 and the Ford was imprinted as 1/42. They still make for really nice replicas and at a low price.
It results in a cool and low-cost model and can also act as a fine introduction to model cars and the hobby in general.
More mid 60s Chevrolet Impalas. Black four door hardtop and station wagon are Greenlights with the wagon a conversion. White hardtop and red convertible are TSM items.
Note difference to rear bumper between the 1967 and 1968
Now what I would really like is a 43rd scale model of the first Caprice, the 1965 four door hardtop. Sergio Goldvarg??
@john-quilter Always liked the '65s.... Very cool taillights! As I get older, I like the Caprice more than I did as a kid. A '65 4-dr hardtop would be great.
What a beautiful full-size Chevrolet ! The blue color is wonderful on this one.
I think this metallic blue with a black vinyl top was a common color choice. A college classmate had a hand me down one from his father in this color scheme circa 1969.
It is a great color choice and combination and the black vinyl roof would set it off nicely. These were all attractive cars and Chevrolets and you would certainly want to "see the USA" in one !
I guess it could be black... I thought this vinyl top was dark blue. When compared to the "black" tires, the color looks blue to me, but I honestly don't know. Either way, I agree with you guys. This blue color/combo seems to be the quintessential color on these '65s.

The '65 Caprice and LTD were K.O.'s to my 12yr old eyes. I wonder how Chevy and Ford both planned on producing upscale models like that at the same time. Did someone leak info from one company to another ? Just how did Chevy and Ford find out that they were both going to release upscale models ? I love the '65 LTD but I got to say I think the Caprice is sportier looking and I always loved those tail lights.
@100ford2003 But Steve......don't you remember the commercials? The LTD rode quieter than a Rolls Royce !! The ad boys sure scored big with that approach.
