PICS - A real "Attic Find" - Proscale Texaco station in 1:43...

I was at a local shop (yes, an actual storefront with cases full of scale models, old and new as well as other auto ephemera) yesterday.

What did I spy? An old prototype of the famous Proscale Texaco station. I saw the production model on eBay recently for $120 but this store had this slightly rough prototype for a quarter of the eBay price. As you can see, the paint needs some touch up and one wall is a little warped but with a little paint, glue and some TLC, it should clean up pretty nicely.

I placed an Avoncast handmade white metal Tokheim pump set and a couple of Motor City Chevies with the station and one can see its potential. Thank you Jim Hardin, for making this set a couple of decades ago!

Great find, Randy! Outstanding and, as you say, with great potential. And about that "Free Air" lettering: I saw an air pump not long ago at a self-service station that required one dollar to operate for five minutes. On the pump, above the coin slot, was a sign which read "If you think air is free, try blowing up your tire."

Congrats on a terrific find.
